Obstacle Course Racing (Ages 16+)

OCR (Obstacle Course Racing) training class is designed to prepare participants for the unique physical demands of obstacle course races. Here's a breakdown:
Core Focus:
  • Comprehensive Fitness:
    • OCR demands a blend of strength, endurance, agility, and mental resilience. Classes address all these areas.
  • Obstacle Proficiency:
    • A key component is learning and practicing the techniques needed to conquer common OCR obstacles.
Typical Class Components:
  • Warm-up:
    • Dynamic stretching and light cardio to prepare the body for intense activity.
  • Strength Training:
    • Focus on functional strength exercises that mimic OCR movements. This may include:
      • Grip strength exercises (e.g., hanging, pull-ups).
      • Upper body strength (e.g., rope climbs, carries).
      • Lower body strength (e.g., squats, lunges, box jumps).
      • Core strength.
  • Endurance Training:
    • Running drills, interval training, and longer runs to build cardiovascular fitness.
